About Us

Tailor Made Sewing studio was officially opened in November of 2011.  After 20+ years of sewing for others "on the side", owner Maggie Mielke decided to move the operation downtown.  A life long seamstress, studying textiles at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis/St. Paul and graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, fabric and fit have always been a passion, possibly an obsession!  Retired from the United States Army Reserve as a Major, Mielke knows her way around military regulations and uniform fit.  Married to John for almost 3 decades, they have 2 adult daughters and a new son in law as of June, 2018.
